Livestock Farmers Receive Assistance from African Development Bank
ZAMBIA - The African Development Fund (ADF) is to give Zambia an advance loan for the livestock infrastructure support project (LISP) to improve household income of livestock farmers.

The ADB is to issue a loan of around UA 300,000 ($465,000) in order to help a livestock sector that is important for poverty reduction, livelihood security and economic growth, but which lacks the necessary infrastructure for improved production and value addition, reports the DailyMail.
The LISP will promote livestock infrastructure development for improved livestock production, productivity and marketing, veterinary services, household food security and inclusive growth.
In particular, the project will help boost farmers incomes whilst tackling diseases such as, bovine pleuro-pneumonia, foot and mouth disease, African swine fever and Newcastle disease.
The project will be implemented for five years by the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock using the existing National Coordination Unit (NCU).
