Bruno Le Maire, Minister of Agriculture, Food and Fisheries launched the programme this week.

He announced that €2 million of funding is available to develop newly established farms and encourage innovative projects that will create jobs and add value to rural areas.

Applications must be submitted to local agricultural departments no later than 1 December, 2011.

The funding comes specifically from the tax generated off land sold for development, a law developed in 2010 to preserve agricultural land.
