Bulgaria Reports One More Outbreak of FMD

BULGARIA - The Bulgarian veterinary authorities have reported yet another outbreak of foot and mouth disease cattle, swine and sheep/goats in Burgas.

The World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) received follow-up report no. 10 yesterday, 11 April.

A total of 45 cattle were found susceptible to the disease, out of which 11 cases were identified. All 11 animals were destroyed.

In the case of swine, 6 animals showed signs of susceptibility, but no cases were reported. The susceptible animals were destroyed.

The source of the outbreak remains inconclusive.
