US - Schering-Plough Animal Health announced this week it is expanding its U.S. cattle operation with the creation of separate business units for beef and dairy, each with dedicated and specialized field forces, support and management teams. The new management structure is being recruited now for implementation at the beginning of 2007.
“In our 50-year history we have been dedicated to advancing the health and welfare of animals,” said Raul Kohan, president Schering-Plough Animal Health, and group head, Global Specialty Operations. “These changes signal our strong commitment to the cattle industry and put us in an even better position to serve our customers’ continually changing needs.”
“Our ambition is to grow our U.S. cattle business significantly in the future, through a heightened level of partnership and collaboration with customers in both the beef and dairy segments,” Kohan said. “The building blocks of our business are People, Products and Processes. Our strategy for this move is two-fold:
- To invest in a management structure which can support our people and products through executional excellence in marketing, sales, customer service and product development.
- To attract top talent and to develop and retain our current in-house talent by relocating this team to the Midwest at the geographical heart of our market.”
