Occasionally cows do get naval hernias after calving, especially if they have had a lot of odoema prior to calving; another possibility is a rupture of one of the blood vessels supplying the udder. I would probably get a vet out to have a look although neither of these conditions is life threatening. Infection is another matter ofcourse, so keep up the good work with the spray bottle!
