BJD and Pestivirus on Dairy Farms

Hi,

I am wondering whether BJD (Bovine Johnies Disease) and Pestivirus are as big a problem on overseas dairy farms as they are in Australia. Pestivirus can be vaccinated against (although this doesn't eradicate carriers of the virus from the herd) but Johnies is a real problem and there doesn't appear to be anything that can be done about it apart from culling suspect animals from the herd.

If there are any vets out there who have any opinion or information on this matter, I would greatly appreciate some feedback.
