FMD Blow To Exports And Industry

UK - The ban on exports is costing the UK farming industry in the region of £2 million per day.

This figure is based on the loss of exports for beef, sheep and pigs (including meat and live animals) and also affected dairy products.

At this time of the year, around a third of UK sheep production would usually be exported.

For beef, around 9-10% of production would usually be exported and, for pigs, around 18% of production at this time of the year would usually be exported.
