Print This Page Merial Statement Following Release Of UK Government Reports On Foot And Mouth Disease Outbreak In The UK
UK - Merial welcomes the HSE and Spratt reports issued this morning by DEFRA which do not find any biosecurity breach by Merial.Throughout this period our priority has been to support the authorities to control this outbreak and to determine its cause. With the publication of these reports our focus now is to implement the recommendations made to us.
Merial’s FMD and bluetongue work at its Pirbright centre enables governments and farmers around the world to combat these potentially devastating diseases. As such, in consultation with the appropriate authorities, we look forward to returning to full production.
We would like to commend the investigators for the thoroughness of their work and thank our staff for their commitment and support, especially over the last few weeks when their work has been under such intense scrutiny.
