Print This Page Seoul Searches for Answers to Canadian BSE case
SOUTH KOREA - Seoul said it will deploy inspectors to Canada to investigate what caused the country's most recent case of bovine spongiform encephalopathy, according to South Korean media reports.The Ministry for Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries indicated a six-person team, which already is working in Canada to inspect the country's livestock and feed systems, have been ordered to review evidence being compiled by Canadian officials.
Canada's 16th BSE case (See Canada confirms 16th case of BSE on Meatingplace.com, Nov. 18, 2008.) comes just after the country resumed negotiations for broader access to South Korea's beef market.
